The World Has Stopped

The world has stopped
But we can’t get off
Now a handshake could kill
So our palms touch through glass

Queues at the supermarket
Hand sanitiser at the door
Clapping for healthcare workers
Who’d prefer gloves and a mask

Floating in our bubbles
Through purified air
We keep the world together
By keeping ourselves apart

The world has stopped
But we can’t get off
