Traffic Jam

It’s slow, very slow. We crawl
from our position – 11297th
out of 12568 with an expected wait
of more than two hours – to 8971st
out of 11452 with the expected wait
reduced to about two hours.
Suddenly a speeding-up, to 1979th
out of 12271 with an expected wait
of about one hour,
only to get stuck at 1404th
as the queue behind us lengthens.
Another burst to 984th
till again we’re stuck
while the queue goes on growing
till it reaches 26540. We speculate
what’s causing the jam:
a message pops up, telling us
(to no surprise) the site can’t cope
with the demand for groceries
and has crashed.
