Biography
Born in Corner Brook, Newfoundland, Canadian artist Carla Tucker now lives
in Calgary, Alberta. Her studies include both Fashion and Graphic Design.
Pure beeswax applied with traditional and modified batik tools on canvas is
her preferred medium. Her work explores the relationship between the
human body and its environment through the use of color and diverse
displays. She is inspired by daily life and her passion for travel. “The
human body tells a story; it is a road map of our journey, the platform for
experiencing pleasure and pain, and the vessel that enables us to carry out
our purpose here.”
