These Words Are Not Weapons

by Mariah Wilson

and when I said I hated you
I didn’t mean it
not really
I’m just a bitch
and you’re so fucking
frustrating
I want to pull my hair out
grip hand fulls and tear
I want to shout at you
so I do
I hate you
I fucking hate you
I fucking hate you so much sometimes
I want to put on my shoes
and never stop walking away
I want to shout to the world
I really fucking hate you
but these words aren’t weapons
they’re a cry into the madness
they’re a plea for you to grab me
wrap your arms around me
kiss me until I break.
