Snows of April

by Mariah Wilson

Love is in the air.
I can smell it
lingering on the horizon,
waiting to break
like a storm.
It’s in the air.
Like snowflakes
it flutters around,
covers everything.
It feels unusual
like the snows of April,
not unwelcome
but it won’t last.
Love is in the air
it melts in my hand.
