I Will Put My Weapons Down

by Giorgia Beavers
(Astoria, New York, USA)

I will put my weapons down
Stop fighting
Enter a womb of silence
That will guide me

I'm tired of me
Feeling so hard
With a heart so hard
Thought I softened it last night
In the hot tub with candlelight
But
My heart is hard
And my lips tired
Head full of bandage
And womb cold as steaming water
I'm scratched and shattered
I will lose pieces
To find myself whole
In a manifestation of a self
I have never witnessed
