Weekly Poem #8
"drops" by kerry rawlinson
Haiku by Lucille Raizada

Artist Biography
kerry rawlinson: Over 3 decades ago, I emigrated to Canada from
Zambia with husband and children, and that necessitated paying unto
Rome what was Rome’s. Recently (semi)retired, I've begun the
Herculean task of reconnecting my life's circle and fulfilling my artistic
and literary beginnings. I’m published (or forthcoming) in the 2013
Ascent Aspirations Anthology Contest; winner in Postcards, Poems
and Prose Contest; Unshod Quills; Kind of a Hurricane Press; and in
recent editions of Prospective: Journal of Speculation (poems and
cover art).

drops

by kerry rawlinson

one
  by
          one

they slowly
slide
glossing the pane-

crystal
drops of rain, distantly
gathered in

a trillion brethren
to a liquid bosom:
mother sea.

And others like me
or you, never imagine
one sweet or brutal

act or word
could converge
and merge with more

surging to impact-
to glue or fracture our
mutual core

but
  they
          do.
