Quiet Mornings

by Spencer Keene

Quiet mornings

of sunshine-dappled
carpets

Hurricanes of sheets
Pillow tornadoes

Peopled shores in
retrograde

Summer's whispers
drip honey-like into
reddened ears

Tendered skin on
warm-weary bones

Invisible mists of
winter

Take a last look at
season's quiet exit
