Submissions close August 31st, 2023.

Free to enter.

The First Place and Second Place winners receive recognition, publication in Wax Poetry and Art Magazine, and potential future royalties. There is no initial cash prize.

Submit three original, unpublished, high quality photographs, or images of visual art. For photos, include the location of the original photo. For visual art, include medium used and dimensions of the original artwork. Include caption information where necessary, such as titles and additional descriptions.

Simultaneous submissions are not allowed. Your images may not be previously published and may not be under consideration elsewhere until you are notified of the results of the contest. You will be informed if you won, or did not win the contest, by October 31st, 2023. Please note, images may not be simultaneously submitted to more than one Wax Poetry and Art submission stream.

Submit three high quality photographs or images of artwork. JPEG format is preferred. Use separate emails if your file sizes are too large to send in one email. You may provide a title for your submission as a whole, as well as for each image.

Include a short biography, no longer than 75 words. You may also provide an additional Artist Statement of 75 words, maximum. Provide links to social media artist web pages, if applicable. Long biographies and artist statements will be truncated at the Editor's discretion.

Selection of Winners
Submissions will be assessed based on artistic merit and overall quality, as well as impact of all three images together. First Place and Second Place winners will be selected. Any accepted image may be selected for use as a cover image.

Publication Date
The Winners will receive recognition and publication in Wax Poetry and Art Magazine. The Winners will be published on January 1st, 2024. Visit www.waxpoetryart.com or the Wax Poetry and Art Library on January 1st, 2024 to read the winning poem and other new published work.

Copyright of the images remains with the original artist.

Upon acceptance, the artist grants the publisher, Kirk Ramdath, the right to the first publication of the images, as well as the right to republish the images in Wax Poetry and Art anthologies and collections, online and in print, without additional permission required.

If the images are ever collected into a book or made available for sale in any other print format, the artist will receive a minimum 20% royalty. If the images are included in a collection with other artists, the 20% royalty is shared equally among all artists, based on the number of works contributed. If the images are ever made available for sale in a digital format, a 50% royalty will be given, and shared as necessary. Royalties are paid out annually in January if a minimum of $10 CAD is accrued.

There is no initial payment.

The artist also grants the publisher the right to publish the work on third party platforms such as Facebook and other social media, specifically for the purpose of sharing the work with more people, and considering the evolving and experimental nature of the Internet.

The editor reserves the right to make whatever changes are deemed necessary, at any time, to ensure that publication occurs. Publication is perpetual.
