Figurehead of the Shadows

by Jesus Chameleon

You are some kind of figurehead.
Askant.  Your hair is long and like Columbus'.
                                                                                    Squinty.
I entered the shadowy darkness through French doors erected by my
impressions,
Peering askance at you,
I saw your discerning right eye and the dark mask you wore.
                                                                                    Asquint.

                                                                                Before me,
                                                                         Pierced by light,
I drew my attention further and further to the right of the spectrum
Elongated by a beam of light.
                                    Askew.

                                    Half lit,
                         Half set in darkness,
Your wide torso was modeled in the shadowy recesses
          After every possible indescribable line,
Which I had resigned myself to.
Awesome.
