And the Sky

by Mykyta Ryzhykh
(Nova Kakhovka, Kherson, Ukraine)

and the sky is still falling on my head
but I do not believe the sky in the ceiling of the bombed-out room

little children dream of becoming adults
although adults do not believe in the existence of adults

birds fly over the heads of the non-existent
