Life can be a warm summer day
with crystal clear skies,
or the darkest nights so black and grey
of faded moonlight and empty cries;
Life can be the heaven
one may only grasp through hell,
for you wouldn't know of happiness
without a taste of sorrow as well;
Life can be a heart-wrenching hurricane
but only then would you know,
how roses need both sunshine
and a touch of rain to grow;
Life can abandon you in the gloom
but happiness and sorrow take turns,
and no matter how dark a night may be
the sun always returns.
