Balance

by Jada Parada-Hemmings

You love me enough that it scares me.
I'm left with nowhere to go.
You've filled up my space,
With your love, and your grace,
I'm left with no choice but to grow.

There are days when I wish you won't see me,
'cause I think that your vision's too clear.
When you look in my eyes,
You go so far inside me,
You can see all my worries and fears.

What scares me is that they don't scare you,
The parts of me I love the least.
You describe it as balance.
But it feels like a challenge,
To how I have learned how to be.

I love you enough that it scares me,
Into thinking what you say is true.
I can't drown in self loathing,
Or give in to foreboding,
When after everything,
I still have you.
