Biography
Karen Battoo is a Caribbeanite who hails from the beautiful twin islands of Trinidad & Tobago.
A graduate of Oxford University’s Writing Poetry programme, she is currently transitioning from a workaholic
eco-hospitality manager to a full-time writer and artist. Longlisted for The Latin Programme Poetry Prize in 2025,
her works have been read on global radio stations Sirius XM & Arirang Radio, and been published in poetry journals
like Lothlorien, Heterodox Haiku, Five on the Fifth, The Haiku Shack Magazine, Cold Moon Journal, and 5-7-5 Haiku Journal.
Her works are set to appear in several poetry anthologies in the Caribbean and USA in 2026.
Karen’s debut poetry collection is in the works.
