Rolling Submissions (New!)
- Submissions are open all year.
- Submissions will receive acceptances or expire within one month.
There will not be a direct rejection notice; submissions will expire instead, after one month (30 days).
- Submissions may sometimes be offered publication later than one month.
In that case, the publication will query the availability of the work.
- Haiku will now be published individually on a rolling basis,
instead of on specific, pre-determined dates.
Haiku Imperium invites all poets, haiku specialists, and haiku lovers and dabblers from all around the world to submit haiku to the following opportunities.
Haiku Format – 5 / 7 / 5
Haiku must be in the format of 17 syllables over three lines of five, seven, and five syllables, respectively.

Everyone on can make three seperate submissions every calendar month.
– A submission to the Haiku Contest.
– A second submission to Haiku Magazine.
– A third submission to the regional publication you qualify for, listed below.

Haiku World Cup
Every haiku published in Haiku Imperium qualifies for the Haiku World Cup.
All haiku published in Haiku Imperium will compete for the Haiku World Cup.
The most-read haiku from the previous year will be featured as top qualifiers on the Haiku World Cup web page.
One haiku, representing one poet and one nation, will become the Haiku World Cup Champion. (More details coming.)
