The Devil's Cruel Play

by Laksha Kumari

Maybe not a monster
But a devil is worse, isn’t it
At least a monster has remorse
But the devil...
Oh the devil had a love
A love to commit a sin
For he fell in love with an angel
The angel ever so pure
Fell too for the devil who had no remorse
And thus they created
What we now call, inevitable
	Destiny, Fate
And the worst of it all
They created a lesson which mankind will never face
For you see, the angel took the devil’s heart
And the devil vowed to be an angel
But fate played its cruel game
And the angel went away
The devil was crushed
Broken, as they all said
Thus, once an angel became the devil
And played the game of cruelty
He created skin with a line
Created a candle that burns in daylight
But the angel was no less
She created a lock with a key
Which are destined to meet
But the people are lost,
Because love became a crime
With no victims but lovers.
