That funny feeling of loving someone so deeply that it's hurting you. Feeling connected with their soul, long before you looked each other in the eye. The joy of life they had, blazed through my bones. Never touching my organs, never touching the parts of me that are alive. The sadness they feel lingers in my heart, pumping through my veins. And it’s funny, because even though we both know loving each other is killing us, it’s not a choice we get to make. Our nerves dissolve into each other. Interlinked. A bond so special that there has to be distance between us, because if we absorb just a bit more, we die in the most empathetic way. No cry for help, but succeeding in understanding another human so deeply. If only I could take your pain away. If only I could look you in the eye, tell you I’m sorry. Sorry that you had to sense my sorrow. While you were drowning in it too. I have no clue why the world treated you so bleakly. But I know that not a single soul deserves this pain, not even me. So if loving you will be my death, then please let me, because death can’t possibly be as painful as life.
