Under the Cowshed

by Justin-Lee Austin

In de yard where de chickens roam and play,
Under de cowshed, where I hide away.
De cows, dey moo, de goats, dey bleat,
An' I'm just sittin' here, tryin' to beat de heat.

Miss Molly's cow, she look at me,
Wid eyes as big as saucers, oh gee!
She wonders why I'm in her spot,
But it's just 'cause de sun outside so hot.

De rooster, he crows, thinkin' he's king,
While de hens 'round him do their fling.
But under dis shed, I'm de boss,
Lazin' 'round, not carin' 'bout loss.

Then comes de goat, wid a mischievous grin,
Chewin' on somethin', lookin' so thin.
He butts his head, sayin', "Move over, do!"
But I just laugh and say, "No room for you!"

So here I am, under de cowshed's shade,
In dis funny little hideaway I've made.
Wid cows, and goats, and chickens too,
It's just a regular day, through and through.
