Africa Poetry Contest #3 – First Place
by Thato Mokgofa
She is a queen.
She is beautiful.
She is powerful.
She is ambitious.
She is unique.
She is a queen.
She is beautiful.
Her smile is like the sunshine.
Not that her teeth are yellow.
But that her smile is contagious.
Inside and out, elegance is present.
Her body a temple that blesses all who see her.
She is a queen.
She is powerful.
Every step she takes commands respect.
Aware of her strength, she reflects courage.
With every word she speaks, flows wisdom.
In a world full of disorder, she stands unshaken.
She is a queen
She is ambitious.
Driven by passion, she strives to reach her goal.
Hardworking and resilient, she never stops.
Using her potential, she changes the world.
Following her dreams, she forges her own path.
She is a queen
She is unique.
Her insecurities make her special and her scars make her human.
Her inner battles make her authentic .
And though she doesn't know it,
Her flaws make her perfect.
She is a queen.
She is my queen.
