Love in the 90s

by Shoaib Akhter Ansari
(Jorethang, Sikkim, India)

If we lived in the 90s,
It'd be such a love;
I'd make you mixtapes,
You'd make me sandwiches;
Wouldn't it be great?

We'd go out to the parks,
Write each other letters,
Dance to slow music...

I'd send you flowers,
You'd send me your love;
Wouldn't it be great?

How would we have met,
Would you have dropped off your handkerchief,
And I'd have picked it up?

I'd sneak into your house,
You'd keep your windows open;
Wouldn't it be great?

We'd exchange books,
Of romance and of love,
You'd read me your favourites...

If we lived in the 90s,
If we loved in the 90s,
It'd be such a life,
Oh! Such a love...
