Introvert

by Kent Vaughn

he sees the cars passing by
going to the places he once frequented
the people in the parks he walked among
endless possibilities
of an ever-growing bustle
the weekly build-up
consumes his soul
only to be reminded of the insecurities
he allowed a viral hell
to unleash.
hiding in plain sight.
anxiety ridden reclusiveness
the now normal
of a recently
made introvert
or did the pandemic
merely uncover
long suffered insecurities
