weeklypoem
(noun) – a short poem written, edited, and submitted within seven days.
The most important thing is to create a body of work, and to share that work with the world. Let's do that and have fun, too.
A weeklypoem gets a new poem onto the page and ensures the poem is under consideration at a publication (or is self-published), in under a week. Importantly, a weeklypoem flexes the core muscles of being a professional poet – writing, editing, and submitting. As well, by writing and submitting a new poem and getting the result in a short time, you can experience all possible highs and lows of the poetry publishing process. But, even if you are not selected, you do have a brand new poem. So you've won.
Visit the Submissions page to read guidelines and submit. Visit the About page for additional publication information and a deeper explanation of the weeklypoem.
