Winner: Weekly Poems Contest #2
by Michelle Brown
Blush pink light kisses
the indigo ridges and
flanks of an ancient range –
Witness to changing
worlds, welcomes us home from
country drive out west.
Bitter winter wind
knifes through body, beanie
on head crafted by
strong country woman's
hands, arthritic, resolute
passing on a life's
worth of tradition and craft
to an unknown daughter's head.
