What Will This World Be Like?

by Irma Kurti

What will this noisy, chaotic
world be like without the two
of us? Tell me. What will it be
like without your sweet smile,
without my deep melancholy,
without our kisses, quarrels,
and fights?

What will these parks be like,
without the flowers spreading
their scent just for us, without
our frequent hand in hand walks
or your voice calling my name?

Will someone remember us?
Or both of us left nothing in
this world except my verses
wet with tears and colorful
landscapes fixed in your
photography? What will this
world be like, without us?
