My Rain-Filled Days

by Ri Dela Borj

The rain is on a sojourn,
it's been here for days now.
Erratic pattering knocks
on my rusted metal roof,
wind chime hanging on my
ten-foot banyan tree clangs
the rainfall's visitations
along with its pal gale.

I wonder when my sunshine
would remember how to trace
back home. Porous draperies
brought by stubborn downpour
mantle the daystar's presence.

I wonder where my plum
blossom umbrella has gone.
I couldn't venture outdoors,
as I'm lying glued to my old
futon. This damp weather
pins me to a languor crib,
gives my tendons some ache.
