It's September!

by Joseph C. Ogbonna

It's September!
And I feel the annual September haze.
Its annual whispers and reminders,
Its yearly change of seasonal events
with the ouster of Summer.
The obliteration of lush green with the
metamorphosis to lemon and amber.
Its blanket presence of crisp and bracing air
with a deep romantic feel.
The swim suits are all packed up for another
sessional jeans and hoodie spree.
It's the superstitious month of Virgo and Libra,
when loving asters and morning glories
consummate their brief seasonal appeal.
It glows for a score and ten with characteristic purity, love, and beauty from birthstones and flowers.
And the calm harbinger of closing ember months.
