by Sophia Clarkson
For the God who’s up high and judges us fair, His eyes are on us all. But if all is just and all is love, Then why let us fall? Tiny and fleeting, a shadow of light, Beneath the stars above. What is the aim of striving for good? Sublime, yet drawn to love. Even on a new day, when all are awake, Nobody answers your call. A widening breach that lasts evermore. Silence is worst of all. We tend to the ground and make it all clean. Give Earth care, not assault. We carry the burden that conscience has laid. Please let our minds halt. But that may be the point where God leads us to, That we must all understand. A spark of truth lights the path we walk, And guides with a gentle hand. So we clean the world and rid it of the filth, As all that we hold is ours. We look to the stars and smile, then again. For love and good, grow flowers.
