Burnt Amber in the Sky

by Harvey Aughton

A flash of red
I know she'll be back

Eviscerated by the cold
North Wales sun

Gone behind the summit
of Moel Famau
Lost to ancient wanderers
Red wings turn dark
Black silhouettes swinging
Over silver hoard seas

Notes: Moel Famau – highest hill in the Clwydian Range in Wales.
