Wax Poetry and Art – About

Wax Poetry and Art is published, edited, and designed by Kirk Ramdath in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada.

The city of Nanaimo is located on the traditional and unceded territory of the Snuneymuxw First Nation of the Coast Salish Peoples.

Wax Poetry and Art is an independent publisher of poetry, photography, visual art, and fiction from around the world. Read publications for free in the Wax Poetry and Art Library. New content is published on January 1st, May 1st, and September 1st.

The Wax Poetry and Art Network comprises dozens of online publications, each with a different regional or topical focus. This makes each publication unique, while ensuring that the collected publications present a variety of topics and a global perspective.

Wax Poetry and Art believes that poetry and art are as natural to humans as breathing. Creating the most inclusive and accessible experience possible accomplishes the task of capturing the poetic breath of humanity at a moment of time. That is the mission of Wax Poetry and Art.

Wax Poetry and Art is a labour of love presented to you by publisher, Kirk Ramdath, in collaboration with the talented artists whose works grace these pages.

Publisher, Editor, and Designer
Kirk Ramdath is the publisher, editor, and designer of Wax Poetry and Art. He lives in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada. After Kirk organized dozens of poetry and music events in the city of Calgary, he shifted his focus as an organizer from the stage to the online page. Wax Poetry and Art was launched in 2010. Kirk's first book, Love in a Handful of Dust, was published in print by Frontenac House in 2011, and republished online in 2017 by Wax Poetry and Art. He has performed poetry in many Canadian cities including Victoria, Calgary, Toronto, and Halifax. Kirk was born in Trinidad and Tobago and moved to Canada at the age of 10. He has a Bachelor of Arts in English with Distinction from the University of Calgary.
