and rest the batter:
that time of year the weather's
nearly toler'ble




Note: In Louisiana, "tolerable" has a regional pronounciation as a three syllable word, hence the use of , "toler'ble," in the poem. (In real speak, it sounds more like "tall-er-bull.")
