The Lost Flowers of Lunia

by Dhanya S. Nambiar

Dreaded dreary land
of lost souls
is where this journey
leads them to.
Running away from
their life
desiring for a new one,
has picked up two ends
and fused them.
Their new beginning
seems like the ending
in this otherworldly land.
They had dreamt of flowers
and butterflies
of starry moonlit nights
and of contentment.
But instead, they lie
in this land of no flowers
dark and gloomy
with fear in their hearts.
They are like ghosts
in the land of Lunia.
Where are the flowers?
Where are the roses,
jasmines, sunflowers?

They cling to each other
afraid to fall.
We are lost in the
land of no flowers,
losing ourselves
in the land of Lunia.
