Solitude in Imagination

by Delvine Schuster

In the quietness of solitude,
we find an anchor for our soul,
in the turmoil of restless seas of thought.

Here we are not wounded
by careless uncaring words,
discrimination and selfish taunts

Here the stillness soothes
calms and reassures.
We feel safe in reflection,
absorbed in contemplation
and pondering.

We can do anything, be anyone.
Be, just be.

In dreamlike meditation,
we waltz through
myriads of portals
into worlds beyond our creation.

Relaxed, free, safe.
Our solitude in imagination.
