Under 25 Poetry Asia and Oceania Contest #1 – First Place

Dancing in Twilight

by Diya Ujual

Won't you let me follow your lead
Trace edges of our marble floor
Search for your eyes in flickering candlelight
Our ankles touch, one, two, three, four
Twist, turn, spin and dip

Your shoulders, my anchor
My waist, your harbour
Bent knees, a sailing waltz
In air, the ballet of balance
Slow steps, tiptoed into a fading interlude
Gramophone humming Swan's Song
A tango into the finale of goodbye
