I'm sitting here, envious of you, Enjoying how perfect you are, enjoying the view. Perfect grades, perfect face, perfect life, The mere sight of you cuts me like a knife. I wish I didn't compare, I wish I didn't care, And I wish I could be kind to myself, be fair, I wish I was a porcelain doll like you, not a broken one, And I wish I could live my life like you, have fun. A thousand oceans in your eyes, I could never hold, Even when I'm brightest, even when I'm bold. It kills me that I'm not like you, not at all, I can't remember when I didn't feel this way, I don't recall I'm writing this poem, because I held it in for too long. I'm sorry I'm not like you, not strong, And I'm sorry I feel the way I feel, And I'm sorry that I'm envious, not real I'm sorry that I'm not who you want me to be, I'm sorry that I always wanted you to validate me, I'm sorry that I am like this, And I'm sorry for falling into this abyss.
