Are Humans Still Humane?

by Avyukta Jaggi

Are humans still humane or have we evolved,
Evolved to evil beyond our comprehension.
Are humans still humane or are we more,
More than the bounds of society,
More than the bounds of elements.
The self proclaimed smartest beings on our planet.
Are humans still humane or are we less,
Less than we think of ourselves,
Less than we could be.
Are we still humane? Are we still what we should be?
Are humans still humans or are we back to being glorified mammals?
Because – what makes humans human? Is it empathy?
(What our society is lacking so truthfully.)
Are we still what we are supposed to be?
Bringing war upon ourselves, upon our brothers and sisters too.
Are we still humans with all our flaws?
Or are the flaws what makes us human?
