Wax Poetry and Art presents Poetry Magazine of Alberta, a magazine dedicated to showcasing poets from Alberta, Canada.
Poetry Magazine of Alberta believes that poetry is connected to human society in diverse and meaningful ways. Poetry is a literary form and an artistic tradition thousands of years old, going back to the oral tradition. Poetry is a ceremonial expression at important cultural events. More privately, many engage with poetry in a deeply personal way, outside of any social function. Poetry is catharsis, philosophy, and spirituality. Poetry is scientific, humorous, and surreal. Poetry is the story of the great and the small, the triumph and the struggle – the record of our life and time. Poetry is all of these things, and more.
Poetry Magazine of Alberta is committed to reflecting the true scope of poetry and by doing so, to bringing more poets and more readers into the global poetry community.
Poetry Magazine of Alberta seeks submissions from poets from all backgrounds and levels of experience, from everywhere in Alberta, Canada. All topics are welcome. All styles. Literary, spoken word, free verse, rhyming, haiku, sonnets, prose – all types and forms of poems are welcome.
Poetry Magazine of Alberta is a qualifying publication for the Poetry World Cup.
