Ben Shaberman's Artist Page

Biography
Ben has written three books – Retina Boy (novel), Jerry's Vegan Women (stories), and The Vegan Monologues (essays) – all published by Loyola University (Maryland). His essays and commentaries have been carried by a variety of prominent media outlets including The Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, Baltimore Sun, and National Public Radio. Ben earned a Master of Arts in Writing (Poetry major) from Johns Hopkins University, a Master of Science in Systems Management from the University of Maryland, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Science from Cleveland State University. He is the vice president of science communications for the Foundation Fighting Blindness, which is a global leader in driving research for retinal degenerative diseases. He hosts the Eye on the Cure podcast and presents research news internationally. Ben resides in Washington, DC.
