Biography
Bertony Louis is a Haitian poet with thirteen international poetry awards,
including the Prize of the Jury Castello Di Duino Poesia 2020 (Italy). He
is the author of Recovering the Horizons (L’Appeau Strophe, 2022).
His career has been supported by several fellowships and residencies,
among them Harvard University’s Scholars at Risk Program, the Artist Protection Fund at the University of Glasgow,
and Stiftung Künstlerdorf Schöppingen in Germany. He is currently a Research Scholar at Carnegie Mellon University (2025–2027)
and Writer-in-Residence at City of Asylum Pittsburgh (2025–2027). His work has appeared in journals such as the Harvard Review.
