Biography
As the granddaughter of a Blackfoot survivor of Cutbank Boarding School,
I was removed from my family's culture and heritage by force.
Growing up as a mixed-race Indigenous girl in Indiana – where nearly every family
has a blood-myth about being related to Pocahontas – was confusing and isolating.
My family closely guarded their heritage for fear of further persecution.
I took it upon myself to thoroughly educate myself about my family's history and the culture of the Blackfoot people.
Now, I am proud to be the embodiment of the hope that kept my grandmother alive.
