Shania S. Lucyao's Artist Page

Biography
Shania is from the Philippines and proudly identifies as an Igorot, one of the Indigenous Peoples in the Cordillera region. She draws strength from her roots and finds power in writing poetry as a way to assert and celebrate her identity. For her, art is not just an expression, it is resistance, healing and truth-telling. A teacher by profession, Shania uses both education and creativity to advocate for her people and culture.
