Janaury 15th, 2026
by ctfg
Sitting across from you
in a busy city street
felt as if the crowds blurred
into the background
of the oil painting
I held the brush to
and you became my muse,
scalping perfectly
between my fingertips
across the piece
I was making
in my memories of this
first moment
we shared together.
With each lingering look
I soften closer to you
like you've taken the clay
I'm made of
and imprinted your hands
into my figure
my hips
my lips
kissing my collar bone
in ways I've only seen
drawn or written
in stories in faraway places
where the air is thick with
want and longing,
each word written
on the page
as if the author
is holding
their breath.
I know if someone was watching us
they would think that only sex was
filling up our thoughts
but when you held my hand
as we snuck down greenway lane
disappearing from any lens
or curious eyes
and you wrapped me
into your embrace
kissing me until
the street lamps
turned on,
it was more akin to
mixing acrylics
with a palette knife,
making the pigments
melt into one another
to create something
completely new.
