Chicago Poetry Magazine believes that poetry is connected to human society in diverse and meaningful ways.
Poetry is a literary form and an artistic tradition thousands of years old, going back to the oral tradition.
Poetry is catharsis, philosophy, and spirituality.
Poetry is scientific, humorous, and surreal.
Poetry is the story of the great and the small,
the triumph and the struggle – the record of our life and time.
Poetry is all of these things, and more.
Chicago Poetry Magazine is committed to reflecting the true scope of poetry and by doing so, to bringing more poets and more readers into the global poetry community.
Chicago Poetry Magazine seeks submissions from poets from all backgrounds and levels of experience, from all places on Earth. All topics are welcome. All styles. Literary, spoken word, free verse, rhyming, haiku, sonnets, prose – all types and forms of poems are welcome.
Chicago Poetry Magazine is a qualifying publication for the Poetry World Cup.
New issues are published on January 15th, May 15th, and September 15th of every year.
