A Rare Affair

by Kayla Trinidad

In the four corners of this room, the dust lies still,
Going unnoticed. It's just dust's will.
Look up!
On my ceiling orb lights, it's dust that's gently gathered,
A witness, always forced to be a bystander.
Last cleared away on my special day,
My 23rd birthday, filled with joy in every way.
April 6th, 2024, love and laughter danced in the air,
Entangling with dust, it felt like such a rare affair.
Look around!
Just a month ago, clueless as can be,
All the chaos of life, soon coming at me.
