by Joseph C. Ogbonna
I am Nigeria, the vast land of amalgamated empires, kingdoms, communities, cultures, and traditions. The lush West African garden divided by two rivers. I am Nigeria, the linguistic giant of two hundred and fifty or perhaps much more. I am Nigeria, the ebullient cultivation zone. I have five to nine luxuriant vegetation belts. I have been exhaustively mined for six decades now, six long and good decades of the extraction of my own valuable black gold. And I am still laden with much more of greater value not exploited as yet. I am Nigeria, the deep slumbering giant who desires to be awoken. I slumber and slumber still, because I am a behemoth of many paradoxes.
