I don’t want that girl to die, The one who sat on rooftops, Counting stars in the quiet night. I don’t want that girl to die, The one who wandered carefree Through streets without fear. I don’t want that girl to die, Who played cricket till sunset, And came home only when the sky turned dark. I don’t want that girl to die, Who never cared for perfect skin, Who kept her hair short and wild. I don’t want that girl to die— Because somewhere along the way, I think I started losing her. I don’t want that girl to die, I want to see her laugh again— Free, like nothing ever mattered.
