Before Love Finds Me

by Khushi Kumari

I hope death finds me
before love finds me,
then I'll get peace
from this world.
 
I don't want attachment anymore
When I'm at the last stage of my life,
taking my last breath on a bed.
 
I don't want to feel love
or attachment to anyone,
not even to nature itself.
 
I want to leave this world
like a child born without
hate, love, attachment, or detachment.
 
Most importantly, that newborn
doesn't even know
of his own existence.
 
I want to leave this world
without carrying any pain
in my soul or heart.
 
Maybe this is the stage
where I will find salvation
or freedom from pain.
 
Universe, I want to die
young, not old
because I want to die immature.
 
We are all blind in this world
because there is no love here,
The only thing that exists
in the name of love is pain.
 
That's why I don't want love,
That's why I prayed to the Universe.
 
“Death, please find me first
before love finds its way.”
