Vancouver Poetry Magazine – About

Vancouver Poetry Magazine accepts submissions from poets living in the Pacific Northwest. This includes Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington in the United States and British Columbia and The Yukon in Canada. New issues are published on January 15th, May 15th, and September 15th of every year.

Vancouver Poetry Magazine is a qualifying publication for the Poetry World Cup.

Vancouver Poetry Magazine is published, edited, and designed in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada by Kirk Ramdath.

Publisher, Editor, and Designer
Kirk Ramdath is the publisher, editor, and designer of Vancouver Poetry Magazine and the Wax Poetry and Art Network of publications. After Kirk organized dozens of poetry and music events in the city of Calgary, he shifted his focus as an organizer from the stage to the online page. Wax Poetry and Art was launched in 2010. Kirk's first book, Love in a Handful of Dust, was published in print by Frontenac House in 2011, and republished online in 2017 by Wax Poetry and Art. He has performed poetry in many Canadian cities including Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, and Halifax. Kirk was born in Trinidad and Tobago and moved to Canada at the age of 10. He has a Bachelor of Arts in English with Distinction from the University of Calgary.
