nights faded

by Jared Ongking

will you remember
fading nights
stretched twice as long

by crescent moons
cutting midnight's
wreath of stars?

listen–
cold water flows
through straits of stone

and white willows
are growing
on the banks.

now day is near
and you and I
imagine

a little destiny
of our own
in dewy gardens–
silvery.
