Winner: Weekly Poems Contest #25
by Joseph C. Ogbonna
The advent season is truly exhilarating!
I hear its whispering themes of hope –
Its re-assuring ambience of cheery moods
as a prelude to the Yuletide.
Its overwhelming joyous melodies of seasonal carols,
and shared love, dexterously wrapped in precious boxes from those who care.
Sweet homes are adorned with wreaths and illuminating candle lights –
glowing purple and pink, consuming the wintry season's blue feeling.
The characteristic blizzards join in the choral batch of climactic elements,
collaborating to usher in the festive holiday season.
In between the traditional feast of Thanksgiving and the evergreen Christmas
of hewn-down cedars with lights, ornaments, tinsel, and wreaths.
