It takes a while to get used to. The way I never see your face anymore. The way the air feels colder now that you're gone. The way I now walk through crowded halls with nameless faces. I hope one day you'll remember those quiet nights filled with our laughter. That streetlight we walked by at night as it somehow burned brighter. That pouring rain as we ran home together getting drenched. That sky where we counted all those shining stars. Sooner or later, you'll just turn into somebody special locked inside of me. I hate that I know your secrets, your family, and that fiery feel of your love. I hate how I'll memorize your face forever, fading to black in the afterglow. I hate that all the screams from our fights will haunt me for the rest of time. It all feels like a bittersweet dream stitched with lies. You said you'd never leave, so maybe the days passed by too fast. You gave broken shells of promises to keep those beautiful lies unnoticed. You comforted me through deceit, filling the world with the soft scent I dearly hate. All these fragmented memories will soon become a soft breeze buzzing past. So, I'll lock our little woven world up and ultimately return your heart. So, I wish to cherish every moment in this fleeting fable. So, I'll ultimately evict you from mine.
